The City Clerk conducts all federal, state, county, local, and special elections held within the City. All registered voters in the City vote at Sawdon School Administration Building, 220 Lamson St., Grand Ledge MI 48837. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for all elections. Anyone standing in line at 8:00 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
Photo Identification Requirement
Before you can vote on election day, you must provide photo identification. If you don’t have acceptable photo identification with you, you can still vote by signing an affidavit stating 1) you don’t have acceptable photo identification or 2) you have acceptable photo identification, but didn’t bring it to the polls.
If you are interested in working at an election, you may contact the City Clerk via email, at (517) 622-7920, or by visiting the City Clerk’s office, 200 E. Jefferson St., Grand Ledge MI 48837. In order to work at City of Grand Ledge elections, you must be at least sixteen years old, a resident of Eaton County and, for those eighteen and older, registered to vote. Full-time students must present authorization from their school, excusing them to work the election.
Permanent Absent Voter List
The City Clerk maintains a list of voters who request an absent voter ballot application be mailed to them for every election held in the City. Voters who wish to be placed on this list may indicate their request on any regular absent voter ballot application they have received from the City and return it to the City Clerk, 200 E. Jefferson St., Grand Ledge MI 48837.
