The Heart and Art of Grand Ledge

The Heart and Art of Grand Ledge is a community art project for children and adults. Professional mural artist Tony Hendrick will help the winning artist produce the first phase of a permanent Mural Art Exhibition Wall at 118 S. Bridge St. in downtown Grand Ledge.

This project is sponsored by the Grand Ledge Downtown Development Authority and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. The goal is to engage Grand Ledge residents of all ages and backgrounds in the creative process, and in doing so, create a lasting and memorable work of art.

An entry form is available to download. Completed designs must have all contact information filled out completely and can be returned to: Mural Project-GL DDA, 319 Taylor St., Grand Ledge MI 48837, or can be dropped off at City Hall, 200 E. Jefferson St.

Deadline for submissions is February 1, 2011. Four winning designs will be selected and winners will be notified after February 9, 2011.

Six mural workshops to paint the winning designs will be held in March 2011 and artists of all ages and abilities are invited to attend. Supplies and refreshments will be provided.
